Q’s House opens its 7th season and 266th show with Florida Gothic/Symphonic Metal Titans, Fields of Glass.  This 8 piece group storms Q’s House and the Residents are stocking up on liquor and finding places for them to sit. But there is always a seat for those who listen in on the one place where musician’s and music fans come together to learn, laugh, and drink.   

Penthouse Topic: Too Big to Fail or Too Big to Survive? Mainstream is for the moment but the Independent Spirit endures. If there were royals and commoners inteh music business the party has been crashed and there are new rules to play by.

The Residents of Q’s House are great believers in education. Expanding language and its uses should always be encouraged. Here are some new words we at the House claim to have created.

Refuckinship: (n) a non-exclusive arrangement between two adults that involve both sexual activities and relationshippy activities (such as picnics in the park, watching TV and painting each other’s toes, spending the night etc.) but strictly prohibits the meeting of parents or discussions pertaining to online status, further defining the relationship, or talk of the future. 

Q-Venture: (n) Used to describe any unexpected and completely ridiculous event that occurs for no explicable reason. i.e. “I thought i could just go to the post office and mail a package but ended up having a Q-Venture and drinking with the postmaster general.

Fearvertising: (n) Advertising technique where a climate of fear is created then used to direct people to purchase a good or service that will make them feel safe or prevent the danger from affecting them. i.e. vote Republican or Muslims will eat your baby or In order to prevent a plane hijacker we need those scanners that will let us take naked pictures of your grandma.

Prosticop: n, A police officer posing as a prostitute.

Blaxican: n, In today’s racially diverse neighborhoods this word defines the mix of Hispanic, black, & Haitian residents. Use this word to generally define someone so you won’t offend them by accidentally calling a Chilean a Brazilian. Q’s neighbors are Blaxican.

Sexile: n, The temporary homelessness you have when a roommate is gettin’ some and you have to get lost.

Salesmenette: n, a sales associate of the non male persuasion. Usually sub par. See waiterette and News Anchorette.

D.U.I.: v, Drinking while under the influence.(V) When you are shit faced and then decide to have a few more shots of tequila. See also Dancing Under the Influence.
